Ubuntu 12.04: Automatisierte Installation mit Preseed


Wie bereits auf der Seite Ubuntu 12.04: Automatisierte Installation mit Kickstart beschrieben, kann die Installation von Ubuntu automatisiert werden. Eine Alternative zur Kickstart-Methode bietet Preseed. Auf dieser Seite möchte ich eine Preseed-Konfiguration vorstellen, welche bei der Netzwerkinstallation von Ubuntu 12.04 eingesetzt werden kann.

Die Preseed-Konfigurationsdatei befindet sich in diesem Beispiel auf einem CentOS 6 System, welches auch einen Ubuntu 12.04 Mirror über FTP bereitstellt (siehe Shell Skript: Ubuntu 12.04 Mirror Script für CentOS 6).

Hinweis: Im Moment scheint der Ubuntu 12.04 Netinstaller mit der Option passwd/user-password-crypted noch Probleme zu haben. Wird das Benutzerpasswort als MD5-Hash angegeben, bleibt der Installationsvorgang mit der Meldung Leeres Passwort: Sie haben ein leeres Passwort bzw. kein Passwort eingegeben, was nicht erlaubt ist. Bitte geben Sie ein Passwort ein. stehen.

Damit die automatische Installation direkt aus dem PXE-Bootmenü gestartet werden kann, werden in der PXE-Konfigurationsdatei noch entsprechende Einträge erstellt. Beachten Sie hierzu auch Ubuntu 12.04: Installation via PXE starten

Öffnen Sie die Konfigurationsdatei mit dem folgenden Befehl.

Das folgende Listing zeigt zwei Booteinträge für die 32- und 64-Bit Version von Ubuntu 12.04. Wie Sie sehen, werden hier bereits einige Einstellungen aus der Preseed-Konfiguration angegeben. Dies ist notwendig, da die Preseed-Konfigurationsdatei erst vom Server geladen werden kann, wenn die Netzwerkverbindung eingerichtet wurde.
